Yesterday, we went to the Dallas Zoo with some friends. Whitney, Erika, Sarah and I had 8 babies 4 and under in tow. And let me tell you…we had so much fun!
And here they are…Paxton (4), Mackey (3), Kirby (14 months), Ebby Lee (12 months), Nixon (2 weeks!), Kensington (19 months), Smith (14 weeks) and Molly (12 months)
My angel baby just hung out the entire time…Happy 14 week birthday!
And how else should Nixon spend his 2 week birthday, why at the zoo of course!
Kensington looking at the monkeys
Kensington and Molly looking at the ducks. You’ll notice that Kensington is in different clothes now. Luckily, I brought a spare pair. In between these pictures, we went to the kids play area where they could splash around in water…she was sopping wet.
Looking at some animal…I don’t remember 🙂
Paxton and Mackey got to ride a camel
Still hanging out 🙂
This was Kensington when we got back to the car to go home. She was creating her own “nap space” with Smith’s blanket. She was asleep.
And this is random but I had to post it. A few weeks ago, my friend Aubrey blogged about how her daughter Ella puts things in certain places throughout the day. To date, it’s my favorite of her posts because it’s so funny to see how methodical these kids can be. A few days ago, I noticed that Kensington is taking an antique door knob off her dresser and setting it on her rocking horse’s head. I haven’t caught her doing it but it happens several times a day. I’ll go in there, put it back up and then go back and it’s on the head again. Since this picture was taken 3 hours ago, she’s done it two more times. We don’t really play in her room, so she’s making a special trip in there just to put the knob on the horse’s head. Why?????

That's so funny! I was at the zoo yesterday! We took the whole Kindergarten grade to the Dallas Zoo for a field trip! If you saw a bunch of crazy kids in red shirts that was probably us!!!

I just showed Ella the photo of the doorknob on the rocking horse and asked her to tell me about the picture. She peered at it for a few seconds and said excitedly, "That's he's hat! That pony is wearing a white circle hat!"
I'm not sure that Ella is right — Kensington might be thinking something completely different — but it's a possibility. 🙂
